This throw is made from a natural white alpaca warp. Various wools have been used in the weft including indigo-dyed. The throw has been slightly felted and there is a subtle differences on both sides.
Caterina Riccabona weaves each of her pieces by hand. It's a slow process as setting up the loom takes several days. Once the loom is set, it takes between one and three days to complete a throw measuring.
Caterina uses unbleached and undyed linen in her warps and her choice of weft yarns are limited to naturally eco-friendly yarns like linen, hemp, undyed or plant-dyed wools and undyed alpaca from the UK. Her pieces also often incorporate second-hand or recycled yarn from a UK company who process industrial surplus into new yarns.
