Maria Sigma hand-woven table mat made with natural undyed pure new British wool in natural shades of white and grey, and natural undyed linen with crochet Aegean-blue edges, in a textured ‘broken’ twill.
‘Hestia’ Tablemat is named by an ancient Greek goddess. Hestia (/ˈhɛstiə/; Greek: Ἑστία) is a virgin goddess of the hearth, fireside, architecture, and the right ordering of domesticity, the family, the home.
It is inspired by typical traditional hand-crocheted tablemats/Chemin (de table) from the islands of the Aegean Sea. It combines the Cycladic minimalism with the purity of the British landscape, having an ‘earthy’ organic feeling.
In every step of the production, the ‘Zero Waste’ principle has been followed, aiming to decrease to the minimum yarn waste and unnecessary cuts and carbon footprints. The environmental impact is being considered at all the stages of the design, the making process, and also at the packaging of this item. Made with Natural undyed British wool, linen with crochet. Aegean-blue edges, distorted twill
