Welcome to the Form Issue of Hole & Corner...

What makes something beautiful? Is function overrated? Is there such a thing as good form anyway? These are just a few of the questions that arose in putting together this issue. Luckily we had a few experts on hand to help us out: such as the legendary Sir Peter Blake, who was happy to put us straight on a few art movements, from Pop Art to Ruralism.

This is just one of the fascinating discussions on the subject with leading figures in art, fashion and design this issue. These include Adrian Joffe, president of Comme des Garçons, fashion designer Molly Goddard, Maureen Doherty of the influential store egg, rush weaver Felicity Irons and Peter Hone, the antiquities expert who allowed us to photograph his home shortly before his unparalleled collection went up for auction at Christie’s.

This issue is dedicated to the memories of Julie Logan and Peregrine Eliot, 10th Earl of St Germans.
